There are four different domain types available in Frame, each useful in their respective right
The type of problem will dictate what type of domain would be best suited for the situation. To change the domain type, go to the Settings tab in Frame.
The different domains found in Frame are:
- Full 3D (Space Frame): Analysis of three-dimensional (3D) structure - model may include, solid, shell, and beam elements.
- XY Plane (Plane Frame): Analysis of a frame in a vertical plane - model may include shell and beam elements.
- XZ Plane (Grillage): Analysis of a structure in a horizontal plane - model may include shell and beam elements.
- XYZ Space (Space Truss): Analysis of three-dimensional trusses where only axial forces are considered - model may include beam elements.
Note: Certain fields may be unavailable depending on the selected domain.
