Influence of load distance
The load distance is the distance from the face of a support to the nearest point load and influences the calculated shear resistance of a beam.
Load distance can be specified by going to Input > Geometry and Loading

The load distance is used to calculate the factor by which shear resistance can be increased, provided that the calculated shear span is within code limits. Refer to the calcsheet for more information.
This acknowledges the increased shear resistance observed in beams close to supports.
