The interactive design mode in Strut

The interactive design mode allows for quick checking of members without the need to build a full analysis model

In Strut, click on the Interactive tab

Once in the Interactive tab, you will need to choose the following parameters:

  • Design Approach
  • Profiles to be used
  • Design Parameters
  • Maximum L/r ratios

In the Interactive input of elements data table, define the following data:

  • L  - Length of the member.
  • Section designation - When using the select lightest section design approach, you only need to choose the type of profile. With the evaluating current section design approach, you must select a section for evaluation.
  • P  - Axial Force, compression is positive.
